Hallo,

ich werde aus diesem Log nicht schlau. Apache schaltet sich selbst ab und an ab (sporadisch, alle paar wochen). Darauf dieser Logeintrag. Sagt das einem was? Warum existieren die Kindprozesse nicht mehr? Das ist das Einzige was er dazu sagt.

Die Childprozesse sind eigentlich eine Lastverteilung.
Wenn er nicht alle braucht beendet er schon auch welche.
Oder er kann keine neuen erstellen da das max-limit erreicht ist.

Aber warum wird dann mein Apache ohne weitere Fehlermeldung beendet?

Ram-Mangel??

Das Problem hatte ich eine Zeitlang.

Schlecht konfigurierter Apache (ja,,,,) - ein paar requests -> Apache reist sich selbst und andere mit in den TOd!!

Sieht wirklich nach einem Überlauf im Speicher aus weil zuviele Child Prozesse erzeugt werden. Evt gibts auch Probleme mit der Vergabe der Rechte beim Apache mit den Unterprozessen.

poste doch mal entweder die "server-tuning.conf" oder die "apache2.conf" , da reicht der abteil von "mpm-prefork" (den du hoffentlich einsetzt)

angaben zur hardware (cpu, ram) wären auch hilfreich und wieviel besucher am tag am apache aufschlagen

Danke für die vielen Tips. Scheint tatsächlich der Speicher gewesen zu sein. RAM ist auf dem Vserver ein bissel knittrick. Muss ich wohl dann wieder neustarten wenn`s passiert.

Das neustarten des Servers ist keine Problemlösung.
Auch wenn einige Provider dies als "Profikonfiguration" Ihren Kunden verkaufen möchten (http://faq.1blu.de/index.php?action=...00&artlang=de).

Sollte dein Problem wirklich am Speicher liegen, solltest du schauen das du dies drosseln kannst.
Zum Beispiel nicht benötigte Prozesse/Software entfernen.

Unnötige Module in der /etc/sysconfig/apache2 entfernen.
Bei Debian kannst du dies über "a2dismod" machen.

    * frontpage (Frontpage-Extension (Wer arbeitet denn mit Frontpage?))

    * perl (mod-Perl hat nix mit CGI zu tun!)
    * speling (erraten von fehlerhaften URL's)
    * status (Status-Abfrage der aktuellen Threads: Performance-Fresser)
    * userdir (URL's der Form /~user/)
