HiHo, inzwischen hab ich gebacken bekommen.
Das Problem war, dass jedes Rom Update mit dem Fehler 106 quittierte.
Die Lösung:
Das Softpaq SP19473.EXE herunterladen und installieren:

HOW TO USE:
1. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive.
The file downloaded is a self-extracting executable with a filename
based on the SoftPaq Number above.
2. Execute the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions.
3. When the SoftPaq has finished installing, perform a Normal Reset by
using the stylus to press the hole on the bottom of the unit.
4. Download SP16986 (iPAQ H3600 Series Pocket PC ROM Update) available
from:
http://www.compaq.com/support/ and follow the installation
instructions. This will flash ROM v1.77 onto the unit, providing you
with an authorized version of Pocket PC 2000.
5. Perform a Full Reset of the iPAQ Pocket PC by placing the battery switch
in the 'OFF' position for a minimum of 30 seconds. Then switching it back
to the 'ON' position.

Danach kann man das Rom Update installieren. Was bei meiner (noch) seriellen Verbindung eine geschlagene halbe Stunde dauerte *schnarch*.
Nu hab ich das PocketPC2002 druff und bin recht zufrieden.
Bin teils aber doch am überlegen ob ich auf PocketPC2000 V1.84 zurückgehe. Wegen einigen Geschwindigkeits einbußungen (kommt mir jedenfalls so vor).
Noch ne Sache, bei der ROM Version 1.32 hatte PocketPC2000 nur 32MB angezeigt und genutzt, was sehr merkwürdig war, da der 3660 64MB haben soll. Seit dem ich aber auf V1.77 gewechselt hatte, hatte er auf einmal 64MB zur verfügung wie es sein sollte. Ist das normal??? Wo gibt's das Update auf 128MB *ggg*
