Wollte mich auch mal bei PP anmelden.
Ich hab da allerdings noch die eine oder andere Frage.

Wenn ich PP benutzen möchte sollte ich dann via paysafe card zahlen? Ich meine wenn ohnehin alles verschlüsselt ist, dann kann ih doch auch meine Provider e-mail addy angeben und via Papyal zahlen oder nicht?

Wie läuft das ganze ab? Einfach Zahlen dann software runteladen und inst. und von da an lufen alle verbindungen über PP? Auch ICQ und Mails?

Fragen über Fragen .. danke für die Gedult

Der Zahlungweg ist dein Bier.
Da red ich keinem rein.

Und ja, wenn du bei PP fertig angemeldet bist, dann bekommst Zugangsdaten zugesandt.

Damit kannste dich dann im Mitgliederbereich bei PP einloggen.
Dort bekommste dann alle Software, welche du benötigt.
Es gibt Prohäbitäre und OpenSource-Clienten zur Auswahl.

Dann kannste entweder VPN nutzen, was halt wirklich jeden ausgehenden Datenverkehr 'überbrückt' oder SSH-Clienten, womit du einzelne Ports überbrücken kannst (z.B. Browser, ICQ, IRC, ...)

Tutorials gibs auch, sind jedoch in Englisch.
Bei Fragen kannst dich natürlich auch an den Support wenden.

Bin jetzt auch seid 1,2 Wochen bei PP. Ging alles schnell und Geschwindigkeit + Handhabung = TOP.

Im Gegensatz zu anderen VPN Anbietern hat man ja sogar noch die freie auswahl zwischen verschiedenen Servern, was ja nicht selbstverständlich ist

Eins macht mich nur stutzig:

Das Geld wurde (noch) nicht von der PSC abgebucht obwohl ich mir für den rest der über bleiben würde was kaufen wollte :-/

hallo leute ich brauch mal eure Hilfe, also ich habe mir auch pp zugelegt, so funktioniert alles einwandfrei, gehe über open vpn ins netz, das problem ist aber das ich mein thunderbird nicht zum laufen kriege, emails abrufen geht aber wenn ich emails senden will dann sagt er mir das der smtp nicht erreichbar ist. habe meinen account bei googlemail. wie kann ich das einstellen das es funktioniert?

Ein paar Server funktionieren im Moment nicht mehr, Moskau nur so halb.
Wenn du über Moskau reingehst, dann könnte es daran liegen.

Dear Member,

As you know, Perfect Privacy is offering a reasonably priced,
high-quality, broadband privacy service for law-abiding members,
enabling them to escape unconstitutional forms of data retention and to
make use of their human right to privacy and data self-determination on
the Internet.

In the last weeks, we have been facing a massive wave of abuse of our
services and servers by a small percentage of our members which violate
our Terms of Service. This abuse reaches from hacking over DDoS attacks
to offenses like credit card abuse. The most problematic issue we are
facing at the moment is, however, SPAM abuse, both ordinary SPAM and
phishing SPAM.

For some people it might sound a bit strange that a violation of the
netiquette like spamming is as problematic to us as illegal behavior
like hacking or the unauthorized us of credit card information, so let
me briefly explain why:

If we found a data center one can talk to and which understands what we
are doing and trying to achieve, we are able to deal with the abuse
ourselves. We can point to our privilege as a common carrier and as a
telecommunication provider which isn't responsible for the content. No
more than a telephone company is responsible if somebody used its
payphones to break the law or the postal service is responsible if
someone would send letters whose content is illegal. We can inform the
inquiring party that we do not keep logs, are not legally obliged to
(and in some jurisdictions are not even allowed to), and thus can
unfortunately not help them. Not that this is pleasant or even remotely
unproblematic, but as long as such abuse doesn't reach a level which the
datacenters consider a nuisance (which we have also almost reached), we
are usually able to deal with it.

SPAM is a different issue altogether. If we do not get SPAM effectively
under control, the datacenter is in danger that its whole IP block or
range eventually is added to public SPAM blacklists. As a consequence,
all of its customers' legitimate emails wouldn't reach many recipients
either anymore. Data centers rather terminate our contract, before
hundreds or thousands of clients terminate their contracts because their
emails cannot reach many large networks and providers anymore.

One would think that even the underground and spammers would be smart
enough to understand this and would have an egotistical interest that
the services and servers they use do not disappear. Most of them are
probably smart enough to understand this, and thus cascade another
non-logging SOCKS5 proxy which they themselves installed somewhere after
us in order that our IP addresses do not appear in any logs, but there
are still some amongst them who don't care.

It's this kind of behavior under which finally the 99% of our
law-abiding and rule-abiding customers have to suffer. Some of our
contracts were terminated (Las Vegas, Frankfurt), other servers were
temporarily null-routed (such as Scranton and Moscow which are back
again; or Roubaix whose data center asked us to reinstall our machine
and which should be back in a few days time). From the data centers of
our European and North American servers which have not yet been shut
down, we are receiving complaint after complaint asking us to take
"pro-active" measures or they will terminate our contracts. If servers
are down, in particular if our fastest 1,000 mbps machines are down, all
the customers will have to make use of the remaining servers, and,
consequently, the speed will drop. Finally, it's also this kind of
irresponsible behavior of a few which eventually forces privacy services
to log. The victims are the 99% of rule-abiding members who just sought
a bit of privacy.

Please understand that our machines in Moscow, Amsterdam and Roubaix are
first-class high-speed broadband carriers which are *absolutely
impossible* to replace. Destinations such as Luxembourg and Switzerland
are *nearly impossible* to replace. These are small countries which
offer great advantages, but in a small country there are only one or two
server providers which can carry the amount of traffic we need and which
sympathize with our aims or are at least willing to put up with the
trouble.

As the situation is currently totally out of control, we seriously
considered already to switch on logging for a few days. For the time
being, we opted against it, though, and will try a less restrictive
attempt first:

1. We appeal to your common sense or rather to the common sense of thosr
who abuse our services. If you carry on like this, you will either land
up with logging or without any servers.

2. We blocked SMTP and SMTPS on all our European and North American
servers *temporarily* until the situation is under control and things
normalized, because SPAM is our no. 1 problem at the moment. This
doesn't mean that other violations of our ToS pose no problem. We would
really ask everyone to forego every violation of our ToS.

SMTP(S) blocked: Moscow, Amsterdam, Steinsel, Zürich, Scranton, Chicago,
Montreal.

SMTP(S) open: Perth, Hongkong, Teheran, Berlin, Panama.

We apologize to the majority of our rule-abiding customers for this
inconvenience, as we understand that it will make it more difficult to
send legitimate e-mails, but at the moment there are really only two
alternatives:

1. You can use all server ports but the SMTP(S) ports, or
2. The servers will be null-routed, our contracts will be terminated,
and the servers will be down for good. Then you have no servers and no
server ports at all, and also no SMTP(S) port.

Here are some tips or possibilities how you can still send legitimate
e-mails:

Solutions:
1. 5 of our currently still 13 operating servers have their SMTP(S)
ports still open (Perth, Hong Kong, Teheran, Berlin and Plaza).
2. You can use webmail.
3. You can establish a VPN connection to a high-speed machine in Europe
or the U.S. and route *only* your SMTP mail over one of the 5 other
servers via SSH. All of them are fast enough from everywhere to chat
and to send emails.

We are working currently hard to bring Roubaix back which is still down.
As mentioned, the data centers in Frankfurt and Las Vegas already
terminated our contracts.

To replace these servers, we added a new server in Panama (100 mbps @
unlimited traffic) already. It operates on the usual ports all our
other servers do. It supports OpenVPN, PPTP VPN, SSH2, HTTP proxy and
SOCKS5. Please find the OpenVPN client files attached. We already
rented another server, too, but it still needs to be set up.

In addition, we are in negotiations with additional data centers to add
even more new machines.

We can only hope that you take our plea to your heart, and that we will
be able to announce that our operations are back to normal soon. Please
avoid to use U.S. servers for filesharing, too. If you only by mistake
would download a file protected by copyright, we could already get
problems. The climate there has become extremely oppressive.

As a rough climate or tolerance indicator for the "sensibility" of
server providers or measures of Internet surveillence which would affect
the average North American or Western European, please consider this
color guideline:

Red: U.S. (unless you are looking for free speech) and Canada
Yellow: Western Europe and Australia (Perth)
Green: Moscow, Hong Kong, Teheran, Plaza (Panama)

also ich habe frühher immer Relakks genutzt, aber naja lassen wir das Thema.

Jedenfalls hab ich mir ein Acc bei auch gemacht & mir den Client geladen.
Bloß ich habe trotz "verbunden" noch die eigene IP.

Woran liegt das? kann ich nicht einfach ne VPN in systemsteuerung einrichten?

Es hängt davon ab wie Du dich verbindest. (OpenVPN, PPTP VPN, SSH)

Woran liegt das?

Der SSH Client erstellt nur Tunnel, standardmäßig auf den HTTP- sowie Socks5 Proxy des ausgewählten Servers. Also mußt Du diese in dem gewünschten Programm wie beispielsweise einem Browser hinterlegen.

Ja klar, PPTP VPN steht ja auch zur Verfügung.

Sollten wir anfangen zu loggen -- was wir uns definitiv nicht wünschen -- dann:

1) selektiv: auf Maschinen bzw. Standorten, wo es nicht mehr anders geht und die qualitativ nicht durch gleichwertige Anbieter ersetzt werden können
2) transparent: wir werden im Voraus darüber informieren
3) zugriffssicher: die Logs werden sicher -- durch mehrfaches Überschreiben -- gelöscht und verschlüsselt auf Maschinen aufbewahrt, die nicht für unsere Privatsphärendienste verwendet werden

Ich bin gerade umgezogen und habe hier jetzt so ne scheiß Inet Anbindung bei der ich ein Downloadlimit von 100 MB (!!!) pro Tag habe.
Wenn ich jetzt PP nutzen würde, würde sich dann auch was an meinem Downloadlimit verändern oder ändert sich da einfach nur die IP?

Würde an deinem Downloadlimit nichts ändern, nein (hängt natürlich von der Implementation des Downloadlimits ab, aber sehr wahrscheinlich nicht).

Hallo Freunde,

kann man irgendwie einstellen das PP auch über JDownloader läuft.

wenn ich auf meineip.de gehe sehe ich nicht mehr meine sondern die im Ausland das geht ja schonmal

aber wenn ich in die rapid logs schaue sehe ich immer noch meine richtige IP, hat jemand einen plan ob ich beim Jdownloader nochwas einstellen muss???

würd mich über hilfe freuen. thx

Das kann ich so gar nicht sagen. Die Maschinen werden alle gut genutzt aber primär Amsterdam, Moskau, Roubaix, Chicago und Hong Kong.
