Hallo

Ich würde gerne meinen Facebook Account löschen, leider wird auf Facebbok nur daktivieren angeboten. Gerne würde ich meinen Account, mit allen Einträgen, Bildern usw löschen.
Leider bin ich nur über folgende Anleitung gestolpert:

How to Permanently Delete a Facebook Account

Facebook only allows users to "deactivate" their accounts, leaving their information intact. But what if you want to permanently delete your account? Here's how...
Steps

1. Make sure your Facebook account contains a contact e-mail address (such as Yahoo or Gmail).
2. Delete any college, high school, or work e-mail addresses listed in your Facebook account. Your contact e-mail should be the only address listed.
3. Deactivate your Facebook account.
4. Register using an e-mail address other than your contact e-mail (a college, high school, or work e-mail is fine).
5. Once you are signed into your new Facebook account, add your contact e-mail address to the account. Open the link in the confirmation e-mail that has been sent. This step will wipe out your previous Facebook account, rendering it inaccessible.

Tips
* If you really want to be secure, change the contact e-mail back to the new e-mail address and then remove your original contact e-mail from the list. Then deactivate the new account

Warnings
* If you try to register using your contact e-mail address, Facebook will inform you that the address is currently in use. You must first register using an alternate e-mail address, then add your contact e-mail address when the account creation process is complete.

Support habe ich angeschrieben, aber noch keine Antwort erhalten.

Ich hatte den Support extra gefragt, wie man sein Konto löschen und nicht nur deaktivieren kann.
Heute ist diese Antwort gekommen

Hi xxx,

You can deactivate your account by using the "Deactivate Account" link on the Account page. Deactivation will completely remove your profile and all associated content on your account from Facebook. In addition, users will not be able to search for you or view any of your information. If you reactivate your account, your profile will be restored in its entirety (friends, photos, interests, etc.).

Reactivating the account simply requires that you log in with your email and password. Let me know if you have any further questions.

Und wieder habe ich mit der Frage geantwortet, wie ich meinen Account löschen und nicht nur deaktivieren kann.
Weiß einer wie die Rechtslage in den USA aus sieht?
In DE ist es so, dass man das Recht hat, dass seine Daten auf Wunsch komplett gelöscht werden müssen.

Since the information and content you upload is often stored in many different places within the Facebook file system, there's no easy way for Facebook to remove it all at once. Keep in mind that Facebook does not use deactivated account information, and profile information ceases to be available to general users of the service immediately upon deactivation.

The permanent deletion of this information from all our systems is hastened by your efforts in removing content from the account before deactivation. If you intend to permanently delete all information from your account, you may log in and delete any content or information you don't want stored before deactivating. Once you've done this, let us know, and we'll remove your login email from our system.

also bedeuted das, dass man seinen account nur dann löschen kann, wenn man sich einen neuen anlegt?
sonst ist nur das deaktivieren machbar?

Das wird wohl an den Statistiken liegen. Facebook mit mind. 50 Mio Accounts ist sehr viel wert; das Risiko, dass einige User ihre Accounts löschen und sich der Wert infolge dessen mindert, ist man nicht bereit, einzugehen.

da das hier das erste suchergebnis bei google war, als ich mein facebook profil löschen wollte, hier die erklärung für zukünftige, die es mir gleich tun wollen:

1. facebook hilfezentrum aufrufen (ganz unten rechts auf "Hilfe")

2. auf "Privatsphäre und Sicherheit" klicken

3. auf "Privatsphäre" klicken

4. im ersten Absatz "Allgemeines" auf den letzten link "Ich möchte mein Konto dauerhaft löschen" klicken.

5. im nun sich geöffneten Text im letzten Satz auf "this form" klicken

6.1 Login Emailadresse eintragen
6.2 Betreff: "deletion of account"
6.3 Bei "Thema" den Punkt "Profil" auswählen
6.4 Beschreibung: "hi. please deleate my entire account. im
absolutely aware of not being able to reactivate my
account in future anymore. thanks for help."

7. glücklich sein, den großen bruder nochmal hinter sich
gelassen zu haben.

Alle Alben und deine Applications usw. einfach löschen , dauert vll. 5 min.

wenn du alles selbst löscht, steht aber alles trotzdem im verlauf auf deinem profil und ist somit nicht wirklich gelöscht.

1. Bei facebook einloggen.

2. Folgenden Link aufrufen:
